「OIL by 美術手帖」のギャラリーでは、オープニング企画として玉山拓郎の個展「The Sun, Folded.」を開催します。

　鮮やかな色彩の家具や照明、日用品といったオブジェと、映像を用いたインスタレーションで知られる玉山は、1990年岐阜県生まれのアーティスト。近年の主な個展に、18年「A Night Meal, Slight Fears」(Little barrel、東京)「DirtyPalace」(CALM&PUNK GALLERY、東京)、19年「Takuro Tamayama & Tiger Tateishi」(Nonaka Hill、ロサンゼルス)ほか多数。また、ファッションブランドや写真家とのコラボレーション作品も展開し、東京を拠点に活躍しています。

　本展では、玉山が近年新たなテーマにしている「宇宙」のイメージから構成した、新作の映像作品を発表。展示空間にリフレクションする映像のグラフィカルな世界と、ギャラリーを訪れた観客が対面することによって、「未知の次元」を空間全体に浮かび上がらせます。

The “OIL by Bijutsu Techo” Gallery is pleased to announce its inaugural exhibition, “The Sun, Folded.,” the solo showing of the artist Takuro Tamayama. Born in 1990 in Gifu Prefecture, Tamayama is known for his vividly colored furniture, lighting and other everyday objects, as well as his video installation. His recent exhibitions include “A Night Meal, Slight Fears” (Little barrel, Tokyo, 2018), “Dirty Palace” (CALM&PUNK GALLERY, Tokyo, 2018) and “Takuro Tamayama & Tiger Tateishi” (Nonaka Hill, Los Angeles, 2019). Based in Tokyo, he also collaborates with fashion brands and photographers. The present exhibition introduces his latest work in video, composed of images of “outer space,” a new theme Tamayama has recently begun to explore. As visitors face the graphical world of the footages projected on the gallery walls, an “unknown dimension” will emerge across the entire exhibition space.
